Thanks, Brandon! The more I learn about Eastern Kingbirds, the more I'm blown away by them. Looking back through my birding notes, it turns out that I saw an EAKI near Ecuador's Napo River (a tributary of the Amazon), so I based my description on that experience. It's an amazing place.

Love your articles! It wasn't until I retired to the desert of southern Arizona did I learn to appreciate birds and wildlife in general. I have a Northern Cardinal that I have named "Rasputin!" Lots of sparrows of different varieties. Ravens in the spring, quail, and an occasional road runner. Doves and a Cooper hawk! (He isn't nice to the doves) Have a wonderful year! Your pictures are spectacular! Just my humble opinion.
