Oh, yay! PUFFINS! What a great lifer! Each new bird I see makes me so happy, and whets my quest for the next! That search takes me by the hand and leads me to all kinds of new places, cultures, and adventures. Birds are great ambassadors for our natural world. And our standby more often seen species greatly enrich our lives as well, whether by familiar songs or new behaviors, bringing to mind the old tune "Make new friends, but keep the old...one is sliver and the other gold"! It was such a wonderful lifer! New birds of any kind make me so happy, too, and it was an extra special treat to see a seabird that I've wanted to see for most of my birding life. You're exactly right that birds are such great ambassadors for our natural world. And I loved the quote! New birds and "old" birds--I love them all! And the more of them we see, the more we become invested in these new creatures and their habitats.💙💚
